Autos Da Fé

Rites of the “Act of Faith” celebrated by a number of Opposition Theologies.  Rites vary, but the central tenets require the sacrificing of any number of Nihili in the name of a deity or as a punitive or deterrent measure.  Victims may be dispatched in any number of ways, the most common being temporary muscular immobilization and insertion into a transparent Ultra-high Pressure Flesh Compression Chamber®, made under license from General Discorporation and Experimental Agonistics, Inc. (GDExA, Inc.), a wholly owned subsidiary of TransUniversal Torture Technologies, LTD.  Once inside the chamber, the victim is subjected to a pressure increase from standard Earth atmospheric levels of 103 Pa / 101.325 kPa to 1015 Pa / 25 PPa (250 billion Bar) in the space of five seconds, resulting in a vibrantly messy and crowd-pleasing spectacle.
Autos Da Fé tend to be exceptionally well-attended events, even though ticket prices sometimes climb to in excess of the average universal laborer's weekly wage. Because of the Congress of Opposition Theologies diligence in uncovering proponents of heretical or otherwise uncanonical views, spectators generally may choose between a dozen or more Autos every weekend, thus providing the COT with a substantial and recurring source of income.
Recently, some Eradication Councils (producers of the Autos) have begun experimenting with newer methods of dispatch, such as Cruxifriction - the grinding down of a living body by the action of a Cruciform Encasement and Flesh Abrasion Unit® (GDExA, Inc.), and  Ritual Baisement - the gradual impalation of a victim by an Ethical Slo-Sodomizer Self-lubricating Adamantine Spar® (with or without variable speed micro-thrust or honed stud attachments, sold by a joint partnership between the PanGalaxial Excrutiatives Group (PgEG) & IntraVoid UltraCompellants & Pain Training, Inc, (IuCPT, Inc.) with support oversight by MartyrMakers! Unlimited, (MMU) all wholly owned subsidiaries of TransUniversal Torture Technologies, LTD.).
These methods have so far proved less popular than traditional Flesh Compression, and currently are employed on a by-request basis only.
